Rob Says: The two lots we bought from Portillas cafe have both Colombia as most important variety, which is a first timer for us.

Caturra is derived from the Bourbon mother variety and represents 25% of all Colombian production. (All Bourbon in total is 45%). The Colombia variety on the other hand is a cross between the Caturra and Timor, which originates from the Typica. (Typica in Colombia is 25% of the total coffee volume).

Cinecafé, a Colombian coffee research center, has 3 more funky new coffee varieties on its record: Castillo, Tabi and the all new Cinecafe 1. Probably you will hear more from these the upcoming years…

THIS COFFEE IS EXPECTED TO BE ROASTED AROUND MID JAN
