Rob Says: This super extraordinary coffee has this special ‘twang’ of ripe fruit. It is a washed processed coffee, but almost taste like a natural. All this thanks to the specific attention at the farm, to enhanced the sweeter components in the coffee.
The farm of Jose Abelardo is beautifully situated for quality coffee, and the soils, shade, and processing have all been preserved to be able to produce more high-quality lots. It sits at an altitude around 2,000 to 2,100 masl with a beautiful view back into the valley. It is a more typical small farm in Nariño, a bit North above the equator, with hand processing throughout and a traditional tile fermentation overnight. Jose has 2,000 coffee trees on 1 ha of his 4 ha farm.
